I agree but the problem is that the suspension which is designed to handle at 250km/h (like the Cayenne) cannot be simultaniously made to be great offroad. If you look at this video, most of the time on big bumps, atleast 1 wheel is off the ground. Once that happens this car relys solely on traction control. For example a Land Rover would have all 4 wheels on the ground on any of these bumps on this course giving it the ultimate traction in comparison.Pointis the Cayenne is not a true offroader.

Sure, I agree that Land Rover Defender or LR3, and Jeep Wrangler would be better off-road. But everything that car needs to be a good off-road vehicle, is right clearance, diff lock, and off road tires - everything that cayenne has (well, tires are an option), and what most of his competition don't.

Propper off road vehicle? I don't think so. Even though it has adjustable air suspension, it still is not anywhere near as articulate as a real offroader such as a Land Rover or a Jeep. This is because the Cayenne is a hybrid for speed on the road and part offroad. Hybrids of this kind cannot be as good since they are in the middle of the spectrum between offroad and road use.

I must say that I am impressed. Made it through obstacles with road tires.

Cayenne is a propper off-road vehicle, it beats hummer h2, tahoe, and a lot more fake off-road (mostly american) cars. The only thing you have to remember, are tires, right for the terrain you're going in. And, yes I know guy in Canada that drives his Cayenne through forrest every day, and it performs very well, even in winter. If someone wants to show off his car, in the city, should buy Escalade or Navigator, if someone wants the whole package, then he should buy a German SUV

U fools... tha reel OR vehicle is suzuki vitara... hahahaah cheap small and hard as a boar! if u scrape the side of a porsche u have to pay all of your life to repair it but the smallest vitara.... sure it wil never ride as fast as a porsche but in a mud hole it never stuck!

The Porsche Cayenne is not designed as an offroad vehicle. It's supposed to be a combination of Porsche super car and still be a large car. It is very poor for off-road, because it has hard suspension, low profile tyres, etc.. and it's extremely expensive. The ultimate off-road machine is actually a 4x4 truck.Like the Range Rover Sport, they are Chelsea Tractors - Large show cars, in which SUV's 10 times cheaper are much more off-road capable.

I love my Jeep Cherokee with straight axles. I can't get it stuck. But Im also getting a Cayenne. Straight axles raise the cg and diminishes handling and road performance. I would still much rather have the original Hummer.
