The Byrds' style is reminiscent of The Greatful Dead.

This is an absolutely brilliant song. I remember back around 1969 or 1970 when so many country music guys just HATED hippies but behind the scenes you had guys like Johnny Cash playing with Dylan and rock guys like the Byrds and the Dead emulating country. I remember getting turned on to Merle Haggard about that time while his lyrics were suited to the so-called hardhat crowd. Now the tables are turned and Merle is writing anti-war songs.

I'm sorry you had to bring that up- It is the worst song on Woodstock- Otherwise I love that album. I wished they put another Hendrix song on and left Baez off- Sorry- I have no use for Joan Baez |
